Spain
The coastal position of Fuengirola, the same as with other coastal towns, must have attracted
the first settlers since old, and now is a wonderful town to rent apartments. Fuengirola is popular for its
miles of sandy beaches that stretch along past Mijas Costa to the west and Benalmadena to the east. Fuengirola has
been popular since the 60's, amongst foreign nationals and Spaniards alike. As a citizen of the European Community,
you only need to produce an appropriate identity document or a current passport to enter Spain. Moving to Spain is
not like moving to paradise. Yes it’s sunny throughout, has beautiful beaches that run for miles and looks really
pretty, but it’s also a place which can drive you wild if you don’t know it right. If you are lucky enough to have
been able to retire early, and Andalucia is a great place to retire to, with the slow pace of life, the lazy hot
summers, and the winter sunshine. Thousands of people visit Seville during Semana Santa (Holy Week) to catch one of
the most spectacular pageants of The Passion in the world. Through a very long and fitful process, the
Christian kingdoms in the north of Spain gradually rolled back Muslim rule, finally extinguishing its last remnant
in Granada in 1492, the same year Columbus reached the Americas. Spain's powerful world empire of the 16th and 17th
centuries ultimately yielded command of the seas to England.
